Antje Kratz

Antje Kratz was born without arms as a result of thalidomide and developed a passion for painting from an early age. She trained in scenic painting at the Municipal Theatres in Frankfurt and further refined her skills under the guidance of artist Hermann Haindl. After receiving a scholarship from the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists in 1981, she became a full member in 1988.

Painting with her right foot, Antje is known for her still lifes and Italian landscapes. Her work is characterised by a confident, richly nuanced style, and she has exhibited extensively throughout Frankfurt and beyond.
