Jin Hyun Song was born in Daegu, South Korea, in 1968 and originally studied chemistry before serving as an army captain. Following a serious car accident in 1996 that left him quadriplegic, he began searching for a new direction in life and was introduced to mouth painting by a fellow artist. He later studied under artist Byun-du Bae and has been supported by the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists since 2008, becoming an Associate Member in 2011.

Working in both watercolour and oils, Jin Hyun Song is particularly inspired by flowers and the landscapes of his homeland. His artwork has been exhibited widely, introducing audiences to his expressive and thoughtful style.
