Tom Yendell OBE's bold, candy-bright Dots painting wrapped around a compact, wind-resistant umbrella. One-handed open, quick-dry canopy, and cheerful enough to make a rainy day feel deliberate.
Tom Yendell OBE paints using his mouth and feet — and his Dots painting has the kind of energy that comes from someone who has spent a lifetime finding joy in colour and precision. A mosaic of overlapping circles in candy pastels: teal, yellow, pink, orange, purple, all jostling together with the confidence of an artist who knows exactly what he's doing. As President of the MFPA Board and recipient of an OBE for his services to people with disabilities, Tom is one of the most celebrated artists in the organisation, and this is one of his most immediately joyful works.
Printed via heat sublimation directly onto the canopy so the colours won't fade, the Dots design turns a practical object into something worth carrying. The semi-automatic mechanism opens in about a second with one hand, eight reinforced fibre ribs handle a solid gust, and the lightweight polyester fabric sheds rain and dries fast. The matching sleeve mirrors the umbrella's centre pattern — so even closed, it holds its personality. The kind of umbrella you actually remember to bring. Every purchase directly supports Tom and the MFPA's mission of financial independence for disabled artists worldwide.

Artist Info
Tom Yendell was born without arms as a result of thalidomide and from an early age learned to use his mouth, feet and chin for everyday tasks. He studied at Brighton College of Art and joined the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists as a scholarship holder in 1986 — he is now a full member and serves as President of the MFPA Board. His work is known for its precision, bold colour and dynamic brushwork, most often inspired by nature. Particularly recognised for his decorative Christmas designs, Tom has exhibited internationally and was awarded an OBE in 2025 for his services to people with disabilities.
