Lorena Guarise was born in Udine in 1960 and developed an early passion for painting that she was unable to pursue for years due to a neurological condition limiting the use of her arms and legs. In 1995, with the support of an art professor, she began painting with her mouth — and has been developing her practice ever since. Her work moves freely between the real, the surreal and the expressive, always anchored by an instinct for vivid, bold colour. She has since held a number of solo exhibitions.
Imagination captures that expressive instinct at its most powerful — a vast, burning sky in pinks, oranges, yellows and greens that feels less like a landscape and more like an emotion. The kind of painting that changes depending on the light, and on the mood you bring to it. Presented on 250gsm archival museum-quality matte paper in a sleek polished aluminium frame with shatterproof plexiglass, this is a piece that belongs on a prominent wall. The poster and frame ship together and require easy self-assembly with all hardware included. Every purchase directly supports Lorena and the MFPA's mission of financial independence for disabled artists worldwide.
