Itzhak Adir trained as an Air Force engineer before a serious injury at 24 left him permanently confined to a wheelchair. He rebuilt his life as a mouth painter — receiving a scholarship from the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, graduating with honours from the Academy for Art Teachers in Ramat Hasharon, and becoming a full member. He now works as a teacher and lecturer, developing courses on using art in rehabilitation. His Sea Horses painting shows the refined, expressive colour work that has taken his still lifes and landscapes to exhibitions internationally — two seahorses rendered in flowing watercolour, curling toward each other in blues, greens, purples and orange.
