Born in Daegu, South Korea in 1968, Jin Hyun Song studied chemistry and served as an army captain before a serious car accident in 1996 left him quadriplegic. Introduced to mouth painting by a fellow artist, he later studied under artist Byun-du Bae and has been supported by the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists since 2008, becoming an Associate Member in 2011. Working in watercolour and oils, he draws inspiration from flowers and the landscapes of his homeland, exhibiting widely to introduce audiences to his expressive and thoughtful style.
