Itzhak Adir trained as an Air Force engineer before a serious injury at 24 left him permanently confined to a wheelchair. He rebuilt his life as a mouth painter — receiving a scholarship from the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, graduating with honours from the Academy for Art Teachers in Ramat Hasharon, and becoming a full member. He works as a teacher and lecturer, developing courses on using art in rehabilitation. His still lifes and landscapes, characterised by refined colour and strong technique, have been exhibited internationally.
