Born in Bucharest, Romania in 1981, Florin Anghel discovered painting through art workshops at a care centre near Madrid, following a spinal cord injury in 2004. Working in oils from photographic references, he developed a realistic style characterised by strong contrasts of light and colour, with a focus on subjects from nature — people, birds and wild animals. He has participated in exhibitions and painting competitions across Spain.
